Ukraine returned 31 convicted Ukrainians from Belarus – video

On Saturday, November 22, Ukraine returned from Belarus 31 Ukrainian civilians sentenced to various terms of imprisonment on the territory of that country – from 2 to 11 years.

This is reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in Telegram.

“Today, an event on the return of civilians took place between Ukraine and Belarus. As a result of successful negotiations with the Belarusian side, the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on the instructions of the President of Ukraine managed to return to Ukraine 31 citizens who were detained on the territory of the Republic of Belarus,” the message reads.

Among those released, there are both men and women, the youngest is 18 years old, the oldest is 58.

Also among the returnees are people with serious diseases, including cancer.

Lithuania has announced its intention to increase pressure on Belarus, which continues to not let Lithuanian trucks out of special waiting zones, even after opening two border checkpoints at midnight.

Belarus also threatened to take measures against Lithuanian transport on its territory.
