The Ukrainian military has officially integrated the fiber-optic drone known as ‘Ptashka’ into its operations. This drone boasts an impressive flight range and the capability to engage enemy targets effectively.
‘Ptashka’ is manufactured in Ukraine and is already being utilized by defense forces. It features a fiber-optic control channel, allowing it to strike targets up to 50 kilometers away, a record distance for drones of this type in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Ministry of Defense stated that this next-generation strike drone is designed for use in intense combat scenarios. It includes a reinforced composite frame, high-performance electric motors, thrust propellers, and a divided battery block to ensure stable operation.
The drone’s design is specifically balanced for maneuverability in flight, enabling it to perform missions both during the day and at night, regardless of weather conditions.
The drone’s payload is sufficient for targeting enemy infantry, firing positions, bunkers, vehicles, and lightly armored equipment, according to the announcement.
