Ukrainian enterprises of the defense-industrial complex are able to annually manufacture products with a total value of 30 billion US dollars.
This was announced in Telegram by the Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin.
“A total of $30 billion in annual capacity. We have room to grow, but we also have something to be proud of,” Smetanin wrote.
He noted that Ukraine has already established serial production of the entire nomenclature of mortar and artillery complete shots, in particular the production of 155-mm projectiles.
“We have achieved a lot! 800+ enterprises, 300+ thousand defense industry workers. A huge range of products: from drones to large armored vehicles,” the minister emphasized.
In addition, up to 20 self-propelled artillery units are manufactured in Ukraine every month — more than in any other country in the free world.
Currently, Ukraine receives hundreds of millions of dollars of foreign investment in the defense industry sector, has opened joint ventures with giants of the defense industry, has its own “mavics”, developments in the direction of swarms of drones, and the introduction of artificial intelligence.
Smetanin explained that the simplification of legislation, affordable credit, and the opening of the explosives market for private business contributed to the growth of the defense industry.
Thanks to these steps, our armed forces are receiving more and more Ukrainian-made weapons.
In addition, Ukraine plans to increase the budget for the production of weapons and military equipment in 2025, allocating over 55 billion hryvnias, which is more than in 2024.
Also, Ukraine is in the final stages of creating three new joint ventures with European arms manufacturers, which will be added to the five already operating joint ventures, Yulia Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, said in an interview with Reuters.
