From July 1, 2025, Ukraine has a European voltage standard 230/400 V.
This is stated in to the resolution National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Energy and Community Services (NERCEP) No. 550 of April 15.
The document amends the Code of distribution system, providing European approaches to determining the quality of power supply parameters. The rated voltage is now 230/400 V. The permissible deviation from the rated voltage is provided within 10% (from 207 to 253 V)
DSTU EN 50160: 2014, which determined the characteristics of electricity supply voltage in electrical networks, has lost its validity in March 2024. In May of the same year, the standard, harmonized with the European EN 50160, was approved by the method of translation, taking into account the year of its initial acceptance as a national confirmation. It came into force on March 1, 2025.
It was reported that the NERCEP expects that the transition to European standards will have a positive impact on the quality of power supply. Yes, stable voltage will reduce the risks of damage to household appliances, sensitive to fluctuations, as well as reduce the need for additional protective equipment such as stabilizers. In addition, it will help to increase energy efficiency – electrical appliances will be able to operate in optimal mode, without overload and loss of power.
The DTEK group emphasizes that the home appliances are made taking into account the requirements of the European Union, so the transition to a new stress standard will not hurt it.
