Ukraine has imposed new economic and personal sanctions against the enterprises of Russian oligarchs. Restrictions were applied to 19 Russian energy companies of the Novatek group, 4 titanium suppliers to the Russian Federation, 2 metallurgical companies of the Russian oligarch Lisin, the Volga Abrasive Plant and Volgabursmash.

This was reported on the website of the President of Ukraine.

Sanctions envisage the blocking of assets – temporary deprivation of the right to use and dispose of assets that directly or indirectly belong to an individual or legal entity, complete termination of trade operations, complete termination of transit of resources, flights and transportation by the territory participation in the privatization or lease of state property.

“New” sanction “decrees on the site, and sanctions – in the NSDC Register. We will synchronize everything with partners, ”said Vladislav Vlasyuk, Presidential Commissioner of Ukraine for sanctions policy.

We will remind, recently the Ukrainian Pravda newspaper conducted an investigation, from which it turned out that the second richest person of the Russian Federation, the owner of the Novolypiral Metallurgical Plant (NLMK), Vladimir Lisin, is actively cooperation with the enterprises of Russia that produce rockets, drones and nuclear weapons.

Two Lisin plants continue to work quietly in Brussels, and he, despite his close friendship with Putin, is not under EU sanctions.

In 2023, Russia exported € 3 billion metal products to the EU, and the Russian NLMC, which supplies metallurgical slaves to the EU, is at the same time a monopoly manufacturer of special electrotechnical steel, which is critical for the Russian defense industry.

On May 1, President Volodymyr Zelensky entered into force the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) of May 1, 2025 “On the use of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)”. The restrictions were imposed on the former adviser to Presidential Office Alexei Arestovich, blogger Miroslav Oleshko and others.

It should be reminded that the NSDC also introduced economic sanctions against Kolomoisky, Medvedchuk, Bogolyubov, Zhevago and Poroshenko because of the “threats of state security and economy” on their part.

On February 12, the National Security and Defense Council on Wednesday made a decision on sanctions against the 5th President Petro Poroshenko. He is being abused by Russia.

The leader of “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko confirmed that on his information he was on the new sanction list, approved on February 12 at the NSDC. He called it a “tremendous blow on inner unity” and called on “to rally around the military.”
