The Ukrainian delegation took part in the 98th plenary meeting of the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) in Strasbourg, where it reported on the implementation of recommendations on the prevention of corruption among people’s deputies, judges and prosecutors.

This was reported by the press service of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

“The Ukrainian delegation took part in the 98th plenary meeting of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), which was held in Strasbourg (French Republic). The delegation of Ukraine was headed by the Head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) Viktor Pavluschyk. At the meeting, they agreed and approved the additions to the Second Report on Ukraine’s implementation of the GRECO recommendations, provided within the framework of the Fourth Evaluation Round. They relate to the prevention of corruption among people’s deputies, judges and prosecutors,” the message reads.

The agency clarifies that Ukraine has implemented seven recommendations. They relate to financial transparency for officials, regulation of lobbying activities, strengthening the integrity of judges, evaluation and disciplinary responsibility of judges, the composition of the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of prosecutors, strengthening the accountability of the prosecutor’s office.

“The meeting became an important platform for presenting Ukraine’s successes in implementing anti-corruption reforms, as well as discussing future steps in this direction. Ukraine’s participation in GRECO contributes to further rapprochement with the EU within the framework of integration processes, strengthening transparency and the rule of law in Ukraine. GRECO’s recommendations have also become a cornerstone for negotiations with the European Commission regarding Ukraine’s accession to the EU,” said Viktor Pavluschyk, head of the NAKC.

He added that Ukraine continues its path of reforms and is determined to implement GRECO’s recommendations and is committed to the principles of transparency, accountability and the rule of law.

It will be recalled that in November 2023 NABU and SAP informed Odarchenko of suspicion. According to law enforcement agencies, the deputy offered a bribe to the former head of the Recovery Agency, Mustafa Nayem, in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin in the amount of $50,000 in exchange for assistance in allocating funds from the fund for liquidation of the consequences of Russian aggression to repair the buildings of the university where he remained rector.

The higher anti-corruption court announced a national and international search for People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” Andriy Odarchenko.

Earlier we wrote that Andriy Odarchenko, a People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” and a member of the anti-corruption committee, who tried to bribe the head of the Reconstruction Agency, Mustafa Nayem, said that he did not believe that Kharkiv would survive. Moreover, it was not at the beginning of the invasion, but in August 2023.
