This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, summarizing the week of foreign policy work during a meeting with the government and the President’s office.
“He instructed the office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to form a clear schedule of practical steps: to finize the necessary arrangements with partners, to launch the tribunal institution and to ensure its real work. We have to achieve justice – and not in decades, ”Zelensky emphasized.
According to him, Ukraine already has the support of European partners both at the level of the European Council and individual states. The President also informed that Ukraine fulfills the obligations necessary to start negotiating to join the EU, in particular in the part of opening the first negotiation cluster in July.
“It is important that our partners in Europe are ready to fully fulfill their promises in relations with Ukraine,” he said.
The President emphasized that the creation of the tribunal should be fast and professional in order for Russia to be held accountable not by a political gesture, but by a real mechanism of justice.
