Ukraine Defends Against Drone Attack as Russia Launches 98 UAVs

In the early hours of April 13, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted a large-scale drone attack by Russia, which involved the launch of 98 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from multiple directions.

The military reported that the drones included various models such as Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas, originating from regions including Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Hvardiyiske in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Approximately 65 of the deployed drones were identified as Shahed models. Ukrainian defense units, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, engaged in countermeasures against the attack.

As of 8:00 AM, preliminary reports indicated that Ukrainian air defense had successfully downed or suppressed 87 enemy drones of various types in northern and eastern Ukraine.

Additionally, impacts from nine drones were recorded at nine locations, with debris from intercepted drones falling at one site. The Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning, stating, “The attack continues; enemy drones are still in the airspace. Please adhere to safety regulations!”

Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted a significant drone attack from Russia, managing to down 87 out of 98 launched UAVs. The military continues to monitor the situation as remnants of the drones have been reported in various locations.
