Against the background of the shooting scandal in Cyprus of businessman Stavros Demosphenous, who is called a confidant of the owner of Pin Up Dmytro Punin, the issue of confiscation of the assets of a sanctioned bookmaker is intensifying in Ukraine.
Although UAH 2.5 billion of players’ funds have already been seized, the state has still not been able to take real estate objects from the company in Kyiv — a hotel on Kontraktova Square, a restaurant on Pejazhnaya Alley, and an establishment in Koncha-Zaspa.
According to sources, part of these assets is owned by businessman Eduard Samotkal, a former member of the Kryvorizka City Council, who is associated with the “Dvadtsyativski” criminal group.
Samotkal is also called a business partner of Odesa Haberdashery, People’s Deputy Oleksandr Petrovsky and Gennady Korban. His wife Ruslana Samotkal and relatives manage a number of companies in Ukraine and the Czech Republic, including “Innovative technological products” and DAAR company sro
Journalists draw attention to the fact that Samotkal has connections with NABU Director Semyon Krivonos through his wife Halyna Polsynska.
The Polsynskyi family has repeatedly appeared in joint companies with Samotkal, while the entrepreneur himself is involved in several criminal cases of NABU and SAP regarding embezzlement of funds at the Yuzhno-Ukrainian NPP.
After the appointment of Kryvonos as the director of NABU in 2023, these proceedings actually stopped.
