Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal stated that he wants to make progress in the entrances with the European Union this year. Our country counts on the block membership immediately after the end of the war.
Smigal said this during a speech at the conference “Introduction of Ukraine to the EU: Choice Made, Time Question”.
Schmigal noted that Ukraine and the EU have completed bilateral screening by three negotiating clusters: “Fundamentals”, “Internal Market” and “External Relations”.
Ukraine now expects that these negotiating clusters will be opened in the first half of 2025.
“In 2025, our goal is to open all six clusters for joining joints at the same time. We are actively working on achieving this goal. I am sure that there are no real obstacles to achieving this goal – only political will and general commitment to hard work are needed,” the prime minister emphasized.
In addition, the Prime Minister reminded that Ukraine has proven that he could move “unprecedented speed” and achieve results not in years, but in months.
“I firmly believe that Ukraine will become an EU member immediately after the full -scale war end,” Shmigal said.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky hinted at Hungary, saying that the European integration process was slowed through the position of a separate EU member.
Hungary promises to block progress with Ukraine’s accession to the EU until the Hungarians of Transcarpathia have returned the rights selected in 2015, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto.
