On April 9, 2025, the Anniversary Tenth meeting of the Association Council between Ukraine and the European Union will be held in Brussels.
This was officially reported on the website of the European Council.
The meeting is headed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal and the Supreme Representative of the European Union on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The event will be an important stage in the development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the European community in the face of ongoing aggression by Russia.
During the meeting, participants will focus on discussing key political issues and strategic areas of cooperation. Particular attention will be paid to the implementation of the Association Agreement in the context of military aggression by Russia.
The parties will also consider the processes of Ukraine’s restoration and progress in the implementation of the necessary reforms. The issue of financial support from the EU will become one of the central on the agenda.
It is worth noting that the previous, ninth meeting of the Council of the EU-Ukraine Association was held recently-March 20, 2025, also in Brussels. Such high intensity of meetings at the highest level indicates the priority of the Ukrainian direction in the foreign policy of the European Union.
The regularity of meetings of the Association Council demonstrates stability and consistency in the development of partnerships between Ukraine and the EU, despite complex geopolitical challenges.
It should be reminded that if Hungary blocks the continuation of sanctions against Russia, the European Union will have to transfer to the Russian dictator 240 billion euros of frozen assets. The corresponding assumption was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Margus Tsakhkna.
We have already reported that the European Union has approved a new package of sanctions against 25 people and 7 organizations from Belarus, which are involved in violation of human rights, political repression and support of the war of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
