The NATO-Ukraine Joint Center for Analysis, Training and Education (JATEC) together with the NATO Joint Forces Transformation Command (ACT) conducted the next stage of tests of an innovative defense system against guided aerial bombs. The tests took place at one of the training grounds in France.

During the test, which took place in difficult weather conditions, experts evaluated the operation of three key elements of the system: a radar with the latest sensor subsystem, software based on artificial intelligence, and an interceptor drone. After detecting a conditional “enemy” target, the radar tracked it, and the AI module calculated the trajectory for the damage that the drone performed.
The development is implemented by a consortium of defense companies of NATO member countries with the participation of the Ukrainian innovative sector and with the support of experts from the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The project has already gone from concept creation to the production of several prototypes of various levels of technological readiness.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the main goal of the initiative is to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian military and civilian population from threats related to the use of aerial bombs. Ukrainian specialists take an active part in testing, providing suggestions for adapting the system to the conditions of the modern combat environment.
Earlier, Ukrainian specialists developed a new Flamingo missile. It has already been put into serial production.
