On Saturday, November 15, two lions escaped from the wild animal rehabilitation center in Khmelnytskyi. One animal has already been found.

This is reported by the local police.

According to law enforcement officials, two lions did escape from a local wildlife rehabilitation center. One animal has already been found, another predator is still being searched for in the city.

According to the director of the center, Serhii Palokhin, both animals are females, nicknamed Simba and Sima.

“At night, unknown persons broke the locks on the enclosure doors, I discovered this in the morning. Experts are working here now. As a result, two lions ran out. I took one with a volunteer boy to a small house, closed it there. We are waiting for a tranquilizer to put him to sleep and put him in the enclosure,” Palyokhin told “Suspilno”.

Serhiy Palokhin noted that patrol police, rescuers, and trainers were involved in the search.

“Now everyone who can calmly approach this lion and “hug it” is involved in the search. It’s not a toy to release an animal like that,” Palyokhin said.
