According to him, the initiative should become an economic stimulus for the recovery of the country and the launch of new investment processes.
Witkoff emphasized that US President Donald Trump spoke about a “tariff-free zone” for Ukraine.
In his opinion, after the end of hostilities, the economic situation in the state will gradually change – and this may open the door for the arrival of industry and production.
Separately, he emphasized that in the case of such a format, Ukrainian goods will be able to enter the American market without additional tariff barriers.
In parallel, Ukraine and partners are advancing a broader post-war recovery plan known as the Prosperity Deal.
It involves hundreds of billions of dollars in reconstruction and modernization — from infrastructure and energy to housing and industry, with a focus on reform, security and EU integration.
