The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Olga Stephanyshina stated that Tomahawk missiles are a powerful means of restraining, which can reduce the threat of massive air attacks of PF if Ukraine receives them.
She said this during an interview with blogger Mario Noufol.
With the help of Tomahawk missiles, Ukraine can destroy Russian means of destruction at the stage of preparation of the aggressor for attack on Ukrainian cities, said Stephanishina.
“The ability to destroy the potential of the aggressor in its territory prevents and reduces the motivation of the aggressor to attack Ukraine throughout its territory, covering our cities with rockets and killing our civilians,” the ambassador said.
In addition, she said, just understanding that Ukraine has the potential such as Tomahawk, “is a very serious factor in restraint.”
“It is not even necessary for Ukraine to use this weapon at some point in time. Now, when the active war is ongoing, it is vital, it is absolutely legitimate, but even if, say, there is a truce or a peace agreement, just an understanding that this ability is in Ukraine … Agree, I think it is a very important trump card between Trump and Putin, ”Stephenyshina added.
Earlier, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Prauds stated that in the case of supplying Ukraine to Tomahawk, Kyiv would have the right to use them to defeat military goals in the Russian Federation.
The United States of America is able to transfer to Ukraine a limited number of winged Tomahawk winged missiles – from 20 to 50 units.
Recall that Russia has changed the rhetoric of US threats through Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine.
Also, the deputy chairman of the Russian Council Dmitry Medvedev openly threatened Donald Trump because of his willingness to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
