According to the president, many work issues were discussed during the meeting, but the number of problems remains significant and needs to be solved as quickly as possible.
Zelensky emphasized that a particularly difficult situation has developed in Kyiv. He noted that the city authorities wasted time, and now the government is forced to correct what was not done at the level of the capital. A permanent headquarters has already been created for Kyiv, the work of which will be coordinated at the government level. The President expects full cooperation and cooperation from local authorities.
Zelenskyi also said that decisions regarding the curfew should be made today. These are the necessary relaxations for the period of abnormally cold weather, so that people and businesses have all the necessary opportunities. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is tasked with checking and expanding the network of support and heating points in cities. Particular attention will be paid to Kyiv, where such points currently need to be strengthened.
The President emphasized that the government should immediately, during the day, provide all the necessary solutions to simplify and increase the import of electricity by both state and private companies. He also expects prompt simplification of regulatory procedures for connecting additional equipment to the network.
Zelensky thanked the Kharkiv regional and city authorities for a responsible approach to the organization of the energy sector in emergency conditions. Requests from Dnipro region, in particular from Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih, as well as other communities of the region, were taken into account. Separately, the government is tasked with working out the situation in Chernihiv Oblast. In addition, they discussed the difficult situation in Boryspil and Brovary districts of Kyiv region, as well as in Sumy region, where the state is trying to provide the necessary assistance. In the evening, the president expects reports on the performance of the specified tasks.
Separately, Zelenskyi announced a meeting with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding strengthening the protection of energy facilities and additional requests to international partners for air defense support.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an urgent meeting regarding the critical state of the energy industry system of Ukraine paying special attention to the situation in Kyiv, where the consequences of Russian shelling and severe frosts have become the most severe in recent years. The government was instructed to revise the curfew rules for the period of abnormal cold.
