A fatal traffic accident occurred in the morning of January 24 in Mogilev-Podilskyi district involving Renault and Skoda cars.
According to law enforcement officers, after the collision of the vehicles, a Renault car driven by a 73-year-old driver flew into a ditch and crashed into a tree at high speed. Three passengers of this car received non-life-threatening injuries and died at the scene before the arrival of medics.
The driver of the Renault and two other passengers who were in the cabin received bodily injuries of varying degrees of severity and were urgently hospitalized. The second car involved in the accident was driven by a 58-year-old resident of Vinnytsia, whose condition is currently being determined. Investigators, forensics and rescuers worked at the scene of the tragedy for several hours to find out all the technical circumstances of the collision.
While the Russian Federation continues to wage war against Ukraine, the load on internal logistics routes and emergency services has increased significantly, which requires drivers to be especially vigilant on the roads in winter. The police of the Vinnytsia region urges citizens to observe the speed limit and maneuvering rules, especially in difficult sections of the border regions. An investigation is currently underway, the results of which will provide the final legal qualification of the event.
