The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, reported on agreements with Slovakia regarding the reduction of gas transit tariffs.
He noted that the government is ready to find financing for the provision of gas in the amount of about $2 billion, if the situation requires it. Agreements reached with American companies and support from Norway, which provided a $100 million grant, testify to Ukraine’s readiness to address energy challenges.
Zelenskyi emphasized the possibility of obtaining gas through the Polish terminal and planned deliveries from Greece. Several contracts for the supply of liquefied natural gas from the USA have already been concluded in Ukraine, which will help to diversify sources of energy supply. The authorities strive to ensure zero dependence on Russian energy resources and intensify cooperation with international partners for the stability of the energy system.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, called on partners to respond decisively to the Russian strike on critical civilian infrastructure. Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of October 10.
The Russian military is attacking energy infrastructure facilities on a large scale. Energy companies take all necessary measures to minimize negative consequences.
