On the highway in the village of Rosava, Kyiv region, a chemical substance leaked – about 1 cubic meter. m of nitric acid spilled from the tank that was being transported by the truck.
According to information State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 17 rescuers and three units of equipment were mobilized to eliminate the consequences of the event, which promptly began work. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the rescuers, the leak was eliminated, and the acid was pumped into another capacity, which prevents its further spread.
According to the information of the rescue services, there is no threat to the population. In addition to liquidation of the leak, a group of radiation, chemical and biological protection was involved, as well as specialists of the Kyiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The incident draws attention to the safety of transportation of hazardous chemicals in the region, as well as the importance of quick response of rescue services in such situations.
