The Freedom and Democracy Foundation, which recently completed exhumation in the Ternopil region, will submit to the authorities of Ukraine another request for work in this place. The reason was that there may be more Poles’ remains.

About it reports RMF FM.

By the end of May, representatives of the organization want to submit documents on this issue.

During the exhumation, 42 people were seized in the former village of Puzhniki, and before the start of the work, it was estimated that 80 to 120 Poles were killed during the tragic events of 1945.

To start new searches for burial place – even if it is adjacent to the newly researched pit – a new permission is required.

The exhumation of the victims of the Volyn tragedy in Ukraine began in April. The works began with Ternopil region.

Ukraine has allowed Poland to search and exhumulate the victims of the Volyn tragedy. In turn, Poland will support Ukraine’s aspirations in the EU.

Before that, Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosynia-Kkysh stated that the official Warsaw should not approve of Ukraine’s membership in the European Union in the future until the issue of the Volyn tragedy in 1943 was resolved.
