As a result of the exchange of prisoners on Saturday, April 19, 277 defenders returned to Ukraine – 36 of them returned outside the exchange. Also among captivity – a military service, which has been in captivity since May 2022.
This was reported by the coordination headquarters on the management of prisoners of war on Telegram.
According to the coordination, most of those who managed to return are young people in 2000 and later.
They also added that 268 released were released to the rank and file staff, and nine officers returned home. These are the military who defended Ukraine from the enemy of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson region and the city of Mariupol.
As the Ministry of Internal Affairs head Igor Klimenko added, among the liberated is the oldest Guards, who will be 61 years old. The youngest released is 20 years.
Also, according to NV, two servicemen who have a birthday have returned home.
77 released military – from the Ministry of Internal Affairs: 73 National Guards and four border guards. Most of them have been held captive for almost three years.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the return of 277 Ukrainian defenders from captivity. According to him, from the beginning of a full -scale war home from Russian captivity managed to return already 4552 people – military and civilians.
On April 18, the media wrote that Ukraine and the Russian Federation were preparing a new exchange of prisoners through the united Arab Emirates.
