Ukraine will receive an additional $ 84 million funding from the World Bank under a housing recovery project that has been agreed as a result of Russian military aggression.

Financing is provided by Hope – “Housing repair for the restoration of people’s rights and opportunities”.
The Ministry of Finance noted that the funds would be directed to the restoration of a home damaged as a result of the Russian War, under the Equinal Program.
“It is expected that more than 25,000 households will be able to repair their homes,” the ministry said.
It is also stated that the relevant decision on additional financing was approved by the World Bank Directors on May 9. And on May 15, an additional financing agreement was signed between Ukraine and the International Development Association.
The document was signed by the Vice Prime Minister for the restoration of Ukraine-Minister of Community and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleb, and from the World Bank-the Regional Director of the World Bank for Eastern Europe, Bob Som.
This project is aimed at solving the urgent and critical needs for repairing partially damaged individual and apartment buildings in territorial communities affected by Russian aggression against Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Finance, more than 87 thousand households have received compensation for damaged property since the implementation of the Hope project.
The Ministry’s press service also informed that the funds for additional financing of the project are provided “within the framework of a special renewal program for Ukraine and Moldova of the International Development Association (IDA SPUR).
Earlier, the World Bank Directors have approved a new package of support for “Creation of Sustainable Infrastructure in a Vulnerable Environment in Ukraine” (Drive) in the amount of $ 432 million, aimed at helping the government in improving the stability of the national road network and improving operating efficiency in the transport sector.
