The World Bank announced a new support package for Ukraine in the amount of 750 million dollars.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to his information, the funds will be provided within the framework of the project “Support for Reconstruction through Smart Fiscal Management” (SURGE), which is aimed at supporting institutional reforms necessary for joining the European Union. Part of this amount will be allocated from the ADVANCE Ukraine fund, which is supported by the Japanese government.

The implementation of the program will help to strengthen the work of state institutions in the conditions of war, to provide key state services to citizens in full, the head of the government noted.

Reforms within the project are aimed at improving the efficiency of public investment and public finance management. If necessary, funding can be increased, Shmyhal emphasized.

He expressed gratitude to the leadership of the World Bank and international partners for this important support to Ukraine in the conditions of a full-scale war unleashed by Russia.

Earlier we reported that Germany will allocate 170 million euros of emergency energy aid to Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the German Foreign Ministry, Annalena Berbok, during her visit to Kyiv.

We also wrote that the World Bank will start a new program to support small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine for $593 million. The RISE project (Program of sustainable, inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship) aims to support 20 thousand small and medium-sized enterprises and should help save at least 40 thousand jobs in the conditions of war.
