On October 27, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Yusuf Mameshev, a key witness in the high-profile case of NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov. Mameshev is suspected of giving knowingly false testimony during interrogations. Judge Oleg Bilotserkivets partially granted the request of the prosecutor’s office, appointing Mameshev a personal bond until November 11. At the same time, the court obliged him to hand over his foreign passports and wear an electronic means of control.
This was reported by a UA.News journalist from the courtroom

According to the indictment, the falsity of Yusuf Mameshev’s testimony lies in his statement that NABU detective and his father Sentyabr Magamedrasulov planned to sell seeds of technical hemp to Uzbekistan. Prosecutors refer to an audio examination, which allegedly indicates that the conversation discussed the sale of products to Dagestan, a country with which trade is prohibited from September 2022. The defense, for its part, denies these accusations, arguing that the recording was edited, and the examination itself has no legal force due to the expiration of the expert’s certificate.

Yusuf Mameshev himself categorically rejected suspicions of lying in court. He confirmed that his family, like the detective’s family, is of Dagestan origin, but his business ties for the past ten years have been closely linked to Uzbekistan, where he tried to find buyers for hemp seeds. Mameshev also stated about the pressure from the law enforcement agencies, claiming that he was approached by representatives who threatened “problems” if the shows were not changed. Even his unexpected “wanted” announcement through the Reserve+ app and subsequent police detention, he says, were part of that pressure.

The case in which the NABU detective is involved concerns an attempt to sell technical hemp seeds to Russia through mediation. The investigation believes that Ruslan Magamedrasulov acted as an intermediary, while his father engaged in illegal cultivation. The preventive measure imposed on Yusuf Mameshev shows that the investigation considers his testimony as a key element that has a significant impact on the further course of the case.
