The work took place within the framework of the agreement on a temporary ceasefire, which made it possible to ensure electricity supply after prolonged interruptions due to hostilities.
It is noted that this is the third time when the “window of silence” became the basis for the restoration of power supply to the ZNPP.
Repairs began on Sunday, and already on Monday the line was restored. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi thanked to the parties for the agreement reached, but emphasized that the general security situation around the ZNPP remains tense. This restoration of electricity supply is important to maintain the stability of the region and ensure the functioning of the electricity grid.
Previously, there were cases when power supply to the ZNPP was restored, but the situation remained unstable, and shelling caused new problems for the power system.
