Ukraine’s allies have received a new report that suggests a Chinese company is supplying Russia with specially designed military drones for testing in Ukraine.
This was stated by one of the Western officials, reports The Times.
According to him, the supply agreement was concluded last year. Although the name of the Chinese company was not disclosed, the government official noted that “there is clear evidence that Chinese firms are supplying Russia with lethal weapons for use in Ukraine.”

“Although the Chinese government may not admit it, it will have a hard time hiding its growing support,” the unnamed official said.
NATO said the situation “causes deep concern and Allies are holding consultations on the matter.”
“China has become a crucial contributor to Russia’s war in Ukraine, providing dual-use technology to support Russia’s defense industry. The Chinese government is responsible for ensuring that its companies do not provide lethal aid to Russia. On September 25, Reuters, citing two European intelligence agency sources and documents reviewed by journalists, reported that Russia had launched a program in China to develop and produce long-range strike drones for the war against Ukraine.
According to Reuters, IEMZ Kupol, a subsidiary of the Russian state-owned arms company Almaz-Antey, has developed and tested a new drone model called Harpy-3 in China with the involvement of local specialists. The company sent a corresponding report to the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country in 2024.
