The reason was significant imbalances between the production and consumption of electricity caused by overloading of power grids and a difficult situation in generation.
In connection with this, Poltava and the region may experience short-term interruptions in the operation of certain infrastructure facilities — in particular, in water supply, public transport, and communication systems.
The local authorities appealed to residents to understand the situation and to reduce the use of energy-intensive appliances as much as possible during peak hours.
Special attention is requested to pay attention to the safety of using elevators.
The Poltava City Council informed citizens about the risk of power surges or sudden blackouts and urged them to temporarily refrain from using elevators.
According to energy experts, this will help prevent people from being locked in cabins in the event of an emergency power outage.
Citizens are also advised to charge their mobile devices in advance and keep flashlights and power banks handy.
As a reminder, emergency blackouts have been introduced in several regions of Ukraine.
Kyiv residents are also assured that there is enough electricity in the network.
