On December 4, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved resolutions on the formation of three temporary investigative commissions to investigate important issues in the social, media and construction spheres.
This is reported on the official website of the parliament.
The term of operation of each of them will be one year from the date of creation.
The first commission was formed to verify the facts of violations of the legislation regarding the treatment, rehabilitation and prosthetics of military personnel and veterans.
Deputies should investigate possible cases of price gouging, low-quality medicines and abuses in the funding of medical programs for defenders.
Also, the commission will monitor the market for the distribution of medicines, study the possibility of a monopoly position of individual suppliers and check the quality of medicines in pharmacies. Its composition included 14 people’s deputies.
The second commission will deal with crimes committed by the Russian Federation against journalists and media workers. It will investigate the murders, tortures, abductions and physical injuries inflicted on members of the media during the full-scale war.
In addition, the commission will coordinate interaction with state bodies, local authorities and non-governmental organizations to collect evidence and systematize data on crimes. It includes 13 deputies.
The third temporary investigative commission will consider the issue of illegal construction and inefficient use of state and communal property.
Deputies will check possible abuses in the field of urban planning, cases of arbitrary occupation of land plots and long-term buildings that remain unfinished.
The commission will also study why the state does not fully fulfill its obligations to provide housing for servicemen and internally displaced persons and how these problems can be solved, in particular by completing existing facilities.
It included 13 people’s deputies.
All three commissions will work within a year from the moment of formation.
We will remind you that the Rada will not support changes to the Constitution for the sake of a “peace agreement” with Russia.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also adopted the law on the state budget for 2026 in the second reading and as a whole.
