The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the appointment of Ruslan Kravchenko to the post of Attorney General. 273 MPs voted for the corresponding decision on June 16.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the candidature of Kravchenko the day before. Five deputies spoke against, 23 abstained, 20 more – did not vote.
Ruslan Kravchenko was born in 1990 in Luhansk region. He became the youngest prosecutor in the history of Ukraine. He received his education at the Ivan Bohun Military Lyceum, as well as at the Yaroslav the Wise National Law Academy. He has the title of Justice Lieutenant.
During his service he worked in the ATO area in the Donbass as a prosecutor of the military prosecutor’s office of the Southern Region. After that, he held a number of positions in the military prosecutor’s office and the Attorney General’s office. In 2021-2023 he headed the Buchan District Prosecutor’s Office of the Kiev region.
In 2023 he participated in the competition for the post of NABU Director. Kravchenko is married, has the status of a participant in hostilities.
