Since the start of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor, more than 162 million tons of cargo have passed through it, of which more than 98 million tons are grain. Almost 7,000 ships passed through the corridor.

This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba on Facebook.

According to him, despite constant attacks on the port, energy and railway infrastructure, Ukraine maintains maritime exports and its contribution to global food security.

The Ukrainian maritime corridor operates under conditions of constant military threat. However, since the beginning of its operation, more than 162 million tons of cargo have been processed, of which more than 98 million tons are grain. Almost 7,000 ships passed through the corridor.

“Supplies of Ukrainian grain, oil, corn and barley cover 55 countries of the world. For many of them, especially in North Africa, this is the only economically possible way of delivery,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Work on strengthening the security of seaports continues every day. AMPU, in close cooperation with the military, law enforcement agencies and business, implements additional measures to protect the infrastructure and safe passage of ships.

Also in focus is the safety of port workers. Work continues on expanding the network of shelters in ports, the vice-prime minister noted.

Special attention is paid to energy sustainability.

“Backup power sources are implemented, cogeneration units are installed, critical infrastructure is modernized. Ports are adapted to work in conditions of energy restrictions and combined attacks – all in order to ensure the continuity of export operations,” said Kuleba.

Marine oil exports from the Russian Federation fell to their lowest level since the beginning of the war.

Earlier, the US Treasury Department stated that US sanctions against Rosneft and Lukoil are already reducing Russia’s oil revenues and will likely lead to a decrease in Russian oil sales in the long term.

The American oil corporation Exxon Mobil is considering the possibility of acquiring part of the foreign assets of the Russian company Lukoil, which is under the influence of sanctions.
