This high-tech platform, created as a result of the cooperation of the Ukrainian companies Rovertech and DevDroid, combines the armored tracked chassis “Snake” and the innovative combat module Wolly, equipped with a heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber (in particular, adapted for the M2 Browning). The complex is designed to perform the most dangerous tasks — from assault operations to reconnaissance and long-term maintenance of firing positions without risking the lives of personnel.
Technical characteristics and combat capabilities of the system include the use of artificial intelligence for automatic capture and tracking of targets, which allows the operator to fire effectively even in difficult conditions. The robot has an armored body that is protected from debris, anti-personnel mines and the explosions of several FPV drones, and its silent electric motor provides a range of up to 25-50 km. Thanks to the high cross-country ability, the Zmiy Droid 12.7 easily overcomes off-road, sand and snow, and the control module allows you to control both the platform and fire at the same time, which critically reduces the reaction time in battle.
The practical application of this NRK has already entered the history of modern warfare: in December 2025, the Droid TW 12.7 complex (the previous iteration of the platform) for the first time in the world in direct combat destroyed the enemy’s heavy equipment – the Russian MT-LB multi-purpose tractor together with the landing party. In addition, a unique case was recorded when one such robot replaced an infantry position and, for 45 days, independently maintained fire control on a section of the front in the area of responsibility of the 3rd separate assault brigade. While the Russian Federation continues to throw manpower into “meat assaults”, Ukraine is scaling up the production of robotic systems that are able to fight more effectively and save the lives of defenders.
In Ukraine, the large Protector robot was tested for the first time with the Tavria-12.7 shooting module. The machine fired effectively both while standing and in motion, showing high results. The project was implemented in just two months.
In Ukraine, they plan to create robotic strongholds equipped with combat modules to counter the Russian invaders.
