On October 1, the Borodyanskyi District Court of the Kyiv region acquitted Russian military officer Yevgeny Murzintsev, who is part of a military unit of the Russian Guard participated in the invasion of the territory of the Kyiv region. The charge related to looting in the village of Blystavitsa, Buchansk district, Kyiv region, where, according to the investigation, Murzintsev broke into a house and stole a number of things, and then sent them home from the territory of Belarus by parcel.
The head of the group of prosecutors, Dmytro Sinyuk, noted that the OGP does not agree with this decision, because “we believe that the collected evidence unequivocally points to the commission of a war crime by the accused. The state has an obligation to ensure the inevitability of responsibility for crimes against Ukraine, and we will use all mechanisms provided by law to restore justice.”
