According to the border guards, the delays are related to technical works on the Polish side. In particular, it is about carrying out service work in the database of the customs service of the Republic of Poland.
In connection with this, it is possible to slow down the registration of vehicles both for entry into Ukraine and for exit from the territory of the country.
“At all checkpoints bordering the Lviv Region,” the State Border Service of Ukraine clarified.
The DPSU noted that the completion of technical works is planned for approximately 15:00 Kyiv time.
The department also reminded that the official implementation of the EES biometric entry and exit registration system in EU countries and the Schengen zone began on October 12, 2025. At the same time, not all checkpoints implemented it at the same time, because a transition period lasting up to six months is foreseen for full implementation.
We will remind you that on the eve of Christmas and the New Year, passenger traffic through checkpoints in the Lviv region increases significantly. The highest load is observed at the checkpoints “Shegyny” and “Krakowec”.
As a reminder, from December 2, 2025, the movement of cars through the Ukrainian-Romanian checkpoint “Solotvyno – Sigetu-Marmatsia” in Transcarpathia was temporarily restricted. The reason is repair work on the bridge and updating the work schedule.
