The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russia attacked Ukraine with four Iskander-M/KN-23 missiles, and two missiles were shot down by air defense in the Kyiv region. Debris fell in the Shevchenkiv district of the capital, causing serious destruction.

As a result of the attack in Kyiv, three people were killed and three others were injured. In the Shevchenkiv district, the main water pipeline, Lukyanivska metro station, McDonald’s restaurant, business center, shops and 10 cars were damaged.

According to Yuriy Ignat, head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command, two ballistic missiles were flying at Kyiv, the anti-aircraft defense shot down both, but the fall of the debris led to the destruction due to the fact that one was shot down at a low altitude. Also, the combat part of the missile could detonate already after being shot down.
