Ukrainian entrepreneurs are mostly positive about the idea of transition to a four-day working week, but if the total 40-hour life expectancy is maintained. In total, almost 60% of businessmen support this innovation.
About it on Tuesday, July 22, reports The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, which conducted a survey among entrepreneurs.
Ukrainian entrepreneurs are mostly positive about the idea of transition to a four-day working week, but if the total 40-hour life expectancy is maintained.
According to the results, the opinions of entrepreneurs were divided as follows:
- 31% considers that the transition to a four-day work week (in four 10-hour days) will have a positive effect on productivity.
- 27% support the idea, but provided that the wages of employees will not decrease.
- 16% took a neutral position.
- 26% opposed: 13% consider such a transition inappropriate due to war and economic condition, another 13% are simply negative.
The standard 40-hour work week in Ukraine is longer than in some Western European countries, such as the Netherlands (32.1 hours) or Germany (33.9 hours), but comparable to neighboring countries, such as Poland (38.9 hours). Currently, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine is working on the project of the new Labor Code, which should replace the outdated labor code.
