This was reported by the well-known forecaster Ihor Kibalchich in a comment Telegraph.
According to him, arctic air will come from the Kara Sea and Novaya Zemlya, and on the night of February 1-4, the temperature will drop to -26…-31 °C in some places, -12…-18 °C is expected during the day, and -6…-11 °C in the southern regions. The last time such frosts were recorded was in 2006.
From February 5, the frost will begin to weaken from the west and south of the country, and on February 6-8, a thaw is expected with a night temperature of 0…-4 °С, during the day 0…+6 °С. The increase in temperature will be accompanied by increased wind, cloudiness and ice on the roads.
On February 2, 2026, the peak of February’s full moon will come over Ukraine, which is called the Snowy Moon because of the heavy snowfall at this time of year.
