Ukraine is preparing to more actively check recipients of subsidies and benefits.
This is reported by the PFU.
In 2026, some people may have their payments suspended or canceled if they find a data breach or inconsistency.
Control will apply to both housing subsidies and certain types of social assistance.
The state currently provides two key support formats for paying for housing: a housing rental subsidy for IDPs and a housing subsidy for paying for housing and communal services.
At the same time, receiving such payments does not mean “automatic immunity” – households can check. The purpose of inspections is to make sure that those who are really entitled to the assistance receive it, and that budget funds are not spent irregularly.
According to the PFU, inspections can be initiated in several typical situations. In particular, when it is necessary to confirm that the housing is not actually rented out.
Also, attention may be drawn to cases where several separate personal accounts are opened in one apartment. A separate risk is the discrepancy between the actual number of residents and the registration or declaration data.
As a reminder, from January 1, 2026, pensions in Ukraine may stop being paid to certain categories of citizens.
Also, starting in 2025, the rules for the old-age pension will change.
