According to Bondra, the situation is complicated by Russian attacks on gas infrastructure and the insufficient volume of gas purchases. The People’s Deputy noted that Oleksiy Kuleba, the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, actually regulates the issue of turning on the heating “manually”. He also drew attention to the fact that due to unfinished facilities and costs in energy, the heating season may pass under a big question mark.
In the fall, Russia significantly intensified its attacks on gas facilities in Ukraine, which resulted in the damage of approx 60% gas production. According to Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolisnyk, the aim of these attacks is to leave Ukrainians without gas, which increases the risk of heating interruptions in the winter.

- Residents can monitor home heating schedules to plan energy use and prepare for cold weather.
What to do if there is no heating or light:
- Turn off electrical appliances for safety;
- Use candles and dry alcohol carefully;
- Do not approach closer than 5-8 meters to broken wires;
- Limit the use of powerful electrical appliances, especially in the evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., without turning them on at the same time.
