The Seversky direction, taking into account its geographical position, in itself leads to an operational-tactical crisis. Now the vector of attacks is directed to Sloviansk. The danger is that in this way an operational opportunity is created for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to form tactical bridgeheads for building good positions in the context of conducting hostilities in the direction of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsky fortified area.
But it is important to understand that anything can happen in war. The enemy is pressing, and a decision was made to retreat to pre-prepared positions. The “no step back” strategy used by the Armed Forces is very controversial, the Russian Federation has already learned to overcome it.
I would also like to add that the operation to capture Siversk was of a completely classical nature, as it is taught in military academies. It’s a sweep from the north, south and east, taking all logistics under fire control, infiltration and, ultimately, occupation.
