In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, there is no longer any religious community, subordinated to the “Moscow Church”.
This was reported by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration in response to an information request.
According to official data, since March 2022, all religious organizations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, related to the ROC, ceased their activities in the Carpathian region, and religious buildings remain closed.
Since the adoption of the Law on the Prohibition of the ROC in Ukraine, only one community in the region has changed its subordination in canonical and organizational issues – it has passed to the UOC/PCU. During the period from August 20, 2024 to January 1, 2025, no active activity of structures affiliated with the Moscow Church was recorded.
Thus, Ivano-Frankivsk became the second region after Lviv region, where communities that remained in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate were completely disappeared.
Earlier, the Lviv Regional Military Administration was the first to report on the complete absence of structures of the Moscow Church in its territory. Over the past year, three religious communities, which previously belonged to this denomination, have moved to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Recall that the Kremlin has identified new representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, who are now responsible for the promotion of hostile narratives and coordination of pro -Russian forces in Ukraine.
We have also reported that the Estonia Parliament has passed a law that obliges the country’s religious organizations to completely break relations with foreign structures, in particular with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).
