The exposed companies are part of an international corporation based in the Russian Federation that manufactures unique electronic components. They are used in the navigation and control systems of ballistic and cruise missiles of the Kh-101, Kalibr and Iskander-K types.
Some of these boards are also used for guidance systems of kamikaze drones, Tornado-G multiple rocket launchers, and on-board navigation of the Ka-52 attack-reconnaissance helicopter.
The Security Service of Ukraine told how those involved developed a plan for the systematic supply of electronic components from Ukraine to the Russian Federation in order to circumvent sanctions.
“For the successful implementation of the plan, they, replacing the final consumer of the products, bought the products on the territory of Ukraine and other countries, sent them to a controlled company in the Middle East, which is under international sanctions, and from there to a Russian company, which is also under Western sanctions.
Among the final consumers of the product are strategic state enterprises of the Russian Federation and enterprises that work in the structure of the military-industrial complex of the aggressor country, in particular JSC “SpetsTechMash”, the message says.
According to the SBU, only during the summer of 2022, the participants of the scheme transported more than 1.5 thousand to Russia. only items of microelectronics for a total amount of over $600,000.
The use of Ukrainian microchips and electronic boards by the occupiers has been confirmed by the conclusions of expert examinations of fragments of Russian missiles and drones.
During the searches, physical evidence of their work in the interests of the Kremlin was found among company officials.
The SBU detained one of the suspects, who was also found to have a Russian passport, and he was informed of the suspicion of aiding the aggressor state. The suspect faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The Security Service of Ukraine is also conducting complex measures to bring the scheme’s participants to justice.
