Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police stopped attempts to illegally sell weapons and ammunition in Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, and Kirovohrad regions.

This is reported by the SBU.

It is noted that five criminals were arrested “red handed”.

In the Zhytomyr region, law enforcement officers detained two local residents who were involved in the trade in “trophy” weapons illegally exported from the Donetsk region.

Among those detained is a 41-year-old recidivist who previously, in 2022, received a suspended sentence for a similar crime, but continued his illegal activities.

Dilyk kept the “goods” in the garage. There, the law enforcement officers found:

  • more than 1 kg of explosives;
  • RGD-5 and F-1 combat grenades;
  • more than 500 cartridges of various calibers.

At the same time, in the Cherkasy region, a 30-year-old deserter who stole weapons and ammunition from a military unit was suspected.

It is noted that he kept them in his parents’ house and was looking for buyers. In his arsenal were:

  • Kalashnikov assault rifle;
  • 5 pomegranates;
  • 2 mufflers.

Also, the Kropyvnytskyi police immediately detained two deserters who tried to sell:

  • 5 anti-tank grenade launchers;
  • 11 F-1 grenades;
  • combat pistols, machine guns, mines and explosives.

It is known that all detainees have been notified of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons). They face up to 7 years in prison.

Recently, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police detained six more agents of the Russian special services who committed arson in the Kyiv and Mykolaiv regions.

Earlier, in Dnipro and Slovyansk (Donetsk region), the Security Service and the National Police detained two henchmen of the Russian special services who set fire to military vehicles and facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia.
