The Security Service of Ukraine detained an 18-year-old young man who installed hidden mini-cameras on railways in the Poltava and Kirovohrad regions to monitor the military echelons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the activities of the air defense forces.

After the arrest of the young man, the counterintelligence of the SBU conducted an operation to dismantle spy equipment and took measures to protect the Ukrainian military.

The suspect’s phone was seized with evidence of his criminal activity and he is currently being held without bail. He faces up to eight years in prison.

This detention occurred against the background of other recent cases of exposure of Russian agents on the territory of Ukraine.

We will remind, in Kyiv, the court found a 57-year-old native of Luhansk region guilty of intentionally setting three cars on fire and sentenced him to five years in prison.

An FSB agent who planned to set fire to the Institute of National Remembrance was also detained in Kyiv.
