The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that the Russian military is trying to burn the faces of dead North Korean soldiers who participated in battles against Ukrainian troops in order to hide their losses.
The President of Ukraine announced this in his Telegram.
According to him, Russia not only uses the North Korean military to storm Ukrainian positions, but also tries to hide their losses.
“While they were being trained, they were even forbidden to show their faces. The Russian military tried to delete any video evidence of their presence. And now, after the battles with our guys, the Russians are still trying to… literally burn the faces of the killed North Korean soldiers,” Zelenskyy wrote.
As the president emphasizes, such actions of the occupiers are a demonstration of “the contempt that currently reigns in Russia – contempt for everything human.”
“There is no reason for Koreans to fight and die for Putin. And even after their death, only mockery awaits them from Russia. This madness must be stopped — stopped by reliable and lasting peace and Russia’s responsibility for this cynical war,” he added.

Earlier, the representative of the US Ministry of Defense, General Patrick Ryder, said that soldiers from the DPRK could have died in the Kursk region.
Losses of North Korean troops in the Kursk region – what is known
On December 14, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the North Korean troops, which Russia began to use in assaults in the Kursk region since November 2024, have already suffered their first losses as a result of successful attacks by the Defense Forces.
On December 15, the commander of the air reconnaissance unit, Robert Brovdi, with the call sign Magyar, published a video on his Telegram channel, in which, according to him, you can see the bodies of 22 people killed in the Kursk region during the December 14 assault by North Korean and Russian troops.
Journalists of the Radio Liberty Schema project published pictures obtained from sources among servicemen in the Kursk region, which show several dozen bodies against the background of broken equipment.
Sources claim that these images show the results of several assaults, and among the dead are soldiers from North Korea. However, journalists were not immediately able to check the pictures independently.
A December 15 report by the Institute for the Study of War confirmed that the North Korean regime’s forces faced difficulties caused by heavy losses in battles against the Defense Forces of Ukraine and the language barrier.
