According to him, the constant raids of Shaheds are an element of intelligence. In addition, for the Russians, they remain a short-range shock weapon, and at long ranges, the main function is reconnaissance.
“But this game can be played together. And unlike us, Russian anti-aircraft defense is point-based and is not able to fully cover the Russian Federation from UAVs. And increasing the intensity of attacks in general will lead to more regular failures of air defense of the Russian Federation, following the example of Toropets,” he emphasized.
Strike on ammunition warehouses in Toropka: what is known
On the night of September 18, a fire broke out in the Russian city of Toropets after an UAV attack, and ammunition detonation began. The governor of the region, Ihor Rudenia, ordered the partial evacuation of local residents. Eyewitnesses reported large-scale fires, explosions and damage to buildings.
According to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the NSDC, the ammunition warehouse in the city of Toropets stored Grad, S-300 and S-400 surface-to-air missiles, as well as Iskander ballistic missiles and North Korean KN23.
NV sources in the SBU later confirmed a UAV attack on a warehouse with BC in Toropka, which was carried out by the SBU, GUR and SSO. According to sources, there were missiles for the Iskander, Tochka-U complexes, aerial bombs and artillery ammunition. More than 100 drones were used to attack warehouses.
As a result of fires and explosions, more than ten earthquakes were recorded in Toropka, Tver region of the Russian Federation. Satellite images were published on the Internet, which confirm the damage in Toropka.
