In the Pryluky district of Chernihiv Oblast, as a result of another shelling by the Russian army, an important energy infrastructure was damaged, as a result of which Pryluky and several surrounding settlements were left without electricity.
This was reported by Chernihiv Oblenergo in Telegram.
The accident caused a complete or partial blackout of a whole group of communities, which was immediately felt by both household consumers and critical infrastructure facilities.
Energy experts emphasize that the nature of the destruction indicates a targeted strike on the energy facility, rather than an accidental hit.
“Chernihivoblenergo” called on residents to remain calm and not to neglect safety rules during air raids and shelling.
The company’s specialists are preparing for emergency restoration work and will go to the facility as soon as the security situation in the area allows it.
Energy experts also remind that people should take care of backup sources of lighting and charged means of communication in advance, because shelling of the power system continues.
The Prylut incident was a continuation of a series of attacks on energy facilities in the Chernihiv region that have been recorded in recent weeks.
It will be recalled that the schedule of power outages for December 13 was made public to Kyiv residents.
Also, in several regions of Ukraine, the lights were turned off for only 30 minutes.
