As a result of the Russian massive combined attack on Sunday, November 17, rescuers removed part of an enemy missile from a residential building in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. The corresponding photos were published by the press service of the State Emergency Service.
In Kyiv, specialists of the State Emergency Service, together with pyrotechnicians of the Mobile Rescue Center of Rapid Response, used a crane to remove a fragment of a rocket that hit a five-story residential building during the morning shelling.
The remains of the rocket were handed over to the relevant units for detailed analysis.
The consequences of the attack were also made public in the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Earlier, it was reported there that the air alert was announced twice in the capital and lasted almost five hours in total. Several Kh-101/55 cruise missiles, several Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, several Iskander-M ballistic missiles were detected and destroyed by the defense forces in the airspace of Kyiv (KN-23), probably also a hypersonic missile of the Zircon type and up to a dozen attack UAVs.
The State Emergency Service reported that divers removed the remains of the UAV from the Kyiv Reservoir.
A resident of the village of Lebedivka discovered the wreckage of a drone on the water during a walk. Divers-sappers of the State Emergency Service examined the water area and removed the remains of the UAV.
Massive Russian attack on Ukraine on November 17
For a combined attack, the Russian invaders used attack drones, as well as cruise and ballistic missiles.
Explosions were heard throughout Ukraine at night and in the morning: in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Poltava region, as well as in the western regions — Lviv region, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
In total, the enemy used about 120 missiles and 90 drones, more than 140 targets were destroyed, F-16 aircraft helped repel the strike. This is the biggest strike since August 26, 2024, when the Russian Federation used 236 drones and missiles.
