The prosecutor’s office is preparing an appeal against the sentence of the ex-head of the Brovarska RDA, who in April 2024 drunkenly hit four people at a pedestrian crossing and was fined.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, in August 2024, the prosecutor of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office sent an indictment to the court in criminal proceedings against the ex-head of the Brovarsk RDA. Today, January 27, 2025, the judgment of the Brovar city and district court decided to approve a reconciliation agreement with the victims, according to which the exhibitor will be punished by a fine of UAH 34,000 with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 3 years.
The prosecutor objected to the possibility of concluding an agreement on the reconciliation of the accused with the victims, justifying the inconsistency of the provisions of the agreement with the interests of society and the requirements of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the same time, the court refused the prosecutor to examine during the trial the materials of the proceedings, which testify to the absence of a mitigating circumstance in the form of active assistance in the detection of a criminal offense on the part of the accused.
Currently, an appeal is being prepared against this verdict.
