The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court suffered a consideration of the election of a preventive measure of Viceremier-Minister-Minister of National Unity Alexei Chernyshov on Thursday, June 26.
Prosecutors of the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office intend to ask the court to choose Chernyshov a preventive measure in the form of a pledge of 120 million hryvnias.
This is not about detention – only a large amount of collateral. This is one of the biggest amounts that have ever demanded for top officials in similar cases.
Chernyshov’s suspicion was announced by NABU on June 23. He is charged with abuse of office and receiving undue benefits.
And in the investigation version, he, together with other high -ranking officials, organized a scheme for the transfer of the land plot to the capital at a low price, which could lead to no more than one billion hryvnias.
Within the framework of this equipment, the developer, according to the investigation, “rewarded” the minister and his identified persons with significant discounts on apartments in new buildings. The cost of a square meter for them was from 1 to 8 thousand hryvnias, although the market price of such apartments – not less than 30 thousand hryvnias per square.
Thus, Chernyshov received an undue benefit of more than UAH 14.5 million. Most apartments obtained under this scheme have already been arrested.
The Minister’s actions are qualified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular on abuse of power and bribery. Chernyshov became the sixth suspect of this high -profile case.
Earlier, the court had already chosen precautions for other persons: three were taken into custody with the possibility of bail from 20 to 100 million hryvnias, two more were assigned a pledge.
We will remind, Viceremier -Minister – Minister of National Unity Alexey Chernyshov filed a request for postponing a meeting of the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court, appointed on June 25, because he has more important cases.
