The Office of the General Prosecutor (OGP) in court actually denied the direct accusations against businessman Ihor Kolomoisky, which were made by the General Prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko during the July briefing on PrivatBank cases.

About this stated Kolomoiskyi’s lawyer, Oleksandr Lysak, writes Glavkom.

As the lawyer pointed out, during the briefing, Kravchenko mentioned the investigation into “the provision of assistance to PrivatBank from the state budget of $5 billion, which was then distributed to Kolomoisky as loans.” These words created the impression in society that the perpetrators of the crime had already been found.

Kolomoisky appealed to the court with a demand for refutation. In response, the OGP stated in its response to the lawsuit that the Prosecutor General did not claim that Kolomoisky had committed any crimes:

  • “…The Prosecutor General did not claim that the plaintiff violated the laws, did not indicate the allegedly proven circumstances of his criminal offenses. Such arguments of the plaintiff contradict the meaning of the statement of the Prosecutor General”;

  • “…during the briefing, the Prosecutor General did not assert the guilt of I.V. Kolomoiskyi. in the commission of any criminal offenses or the existence of convictions against him”.

Lawyer Lysak emphasized that in this way the prosecutor’s office admitted that its leader “did not mean what he said.” According to Kolomoiskyi, the conflict will be resolved if the Prosecutor General publicly announces the above-mentioned fragments of the OGP response. Previously, the prosecutor’s office answered the businessman’s requests only with general phrases about “the secret of the pre-trial investigation” and “the presumption of innocence.”

Previously, the Administrative Court of Cassation was part of the Supreme Court rejected petition of lawyer Khrystyna Remarska to involve businessman Ihor Kolomoisky in the case of the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, as a third person without independent claims.

On July 3, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv continued preventive measure for businessman Ihor Kolomoiskyi. He is charged with the contract killing of lawyer Serhiy Karpenko.

The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied petition of representatives of three factories and businessman Igor Kolomoiskyi. The court reviewed the decisions of July 14 and 16, which blocked the property of three enterprises.
